Congratulations to Sharon Owens, winner of the OnTrac Charity Challenge!
OnTrac is happy to donate $250 to the Epilepsy Foundation and award Sharon with a $50 American Express gift card. Sharon’s daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy when she was a child.
Here’s her story:
“My daughter, who is now 21, began having seizures when she was 2 years old and was diagnosed with epilepsy. None of the most common medicines worked to stop her seizures. After a couple years of trying different medicines that did not work for her, a new medication whose research had been funded by the Epilepsy Foundation became available. This new medicine worked and stopped her seizures! I would love to see this charitable donation go to the Epilepsy Foundation to help them continue doing the research which greatly helped our daughter become the vibrant and seizure free college student she is today. I would love to see other families have the success story we have had! Thank you for offering this wonderful donation!”
There are nearly three million people in the United States that suffer from epilepsy. Epilepsy is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by recurrent unprovoked seizures, which can last from a few seconds to a few minutes. The Epilepsy Foundation “works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; to improve how people with epilepsy are perceived, accepted and valued in society; and to promote research for a cure.”
Thank you to everyone who participated, we are sure these organizations appreciate your support.
