OnTrac has opened the doors to their newest Southern California facility at a grand opening event that took place on June 21st. Approximately 65 guests attended the fiesta-themed event to enjoy Mexican food, watch presentations by OnTrac leadership, City officials and the local Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon cutting ceremony followed the presentations, and after a celebration with confetti guests were invited on a tour of the new building.

One speaker at the event, OnTrac Director of Engineering Jim Brownlow was able to give guests full details of the new building’s material handling systems capabilities. The Sun Valley material handling system was built for efficiency and expansion.  A more efficient system allows for packages to travel through the building and get on the road to their destination much quicker.  The new Sun Valley facility is roughly 250,000 square feet, and provides 6 unload doors and 5 load doors. This allows packages to get unloaded, sorted, on the road, and in the customer’s hands quickly and more efficiently.

In order to accommodate the new loading capabilities, the Primary Source Slide System operates in 5 different ways. This allows sorters to send packages 5 ways throughout the facility. The new material handling system allows for 9,000 packages to be sorted an hour, and that can expand up to 13,000 an hour. 38 motors power 2,700 feet of conveyor, and 5,500 feet of belting throughout the building. That is the equivalent to the length of roughly 24 football fields. With this new system, OnTrac has the capacity to handle the packages we have today, and room for growth in the future.

OnTrac is proud to be a member of the Southern California community and to contribute to the economic growth, job creation and career opportunities in Sun Valley. The number of employees has increased by 40%, totaling in over 100 employees in the Burbank facility. OnTrac is now offering opportunities such as AM and PM Package Handlers and Driver Checkout Clerk at the Sun Valley location. OnTrac Expands by 800,000 Square Feet in 2017

Posted on Dec 31, 2017 2:10:00 PM

2017 was a year of growth for OnTrac. With the opening of three new facilities across the Western United States, OnTrac has added nearly 800,000 square feet of additional warehouse space. OnTrac employees were joined by customers and the local Chamber of Commerce at each event for a celebration, ribbon cutting ceremony and facility tours.

In April 2017, OnTrac celebrated the grand opening of their second facility in Phoenix, Arizona and their third facility statewide. The second Phoenix location is over double in square footage to the first Phoenix facility. OnTrac General Manager Matthew Fagnano spoke to the company’s healthy growth plans by explaining that, “The Phoenix facility is designed to be an expandable system in terms of the material handling, which will allow OnTrac to continue to service the needs of the West Valley and grow with the community.” With over 200,000 square feet, OnTrac is planning the expansions well in advance for this Phoenix facility with an eye towards the future.

In June 2017, OnTrac welcomed to the public their biggest facility yet in Fontana, California. The nearly 600,000 square foot facility is over five times the size of the two previous OnTrac facilities in nearby Ontario. Laura Peterson, vice president of public relations and marketing says, “This facility is important to us. Not only is it our newest facility.  It is also our largest at just under 600,000 square feet. We have improved our square footage by five or six times and we've tripled the number of employees. And more exciting is that within the next year we plan on fully automating this building, which I believe will make us the first regional carrier to have a fully automated facility.” Being fully automated will give the facility the ability to move 35,000 packages an hour. By processing packages faster and minimizing time in the facility, the packages can be loaded and arrive at their destination faster.

The last Grand Opening of 2017 was in Vancouver, Washington. The Vancouver facility was built from the ground up and doubled in size from the previous facility. With over 160,000 square feet and roughly 60 employees, it is the largest presence OnTrac has had in the Northwest so far. This facility services the southwest Washington and Portland, Oregon area. The Vancouver facility is the second facility located in the state of Washington and is one of about 30 facilities throughout the OnTrac service region.

OnTrac has grown to become a top choice for e-commerce and companies looking to speed up parcel distribution without the cost of express shipping. The additional square footage that these three facilities provides, allows OnTrac to continue to keep the promise of On Time Delivery for Less.

Facility expansion yields employee growth. With this new facility, OnTrac has grown to almost 60 employees and is still hiring today. OnTrac has over 2,700 employees company-wide working in operations and administrative positions, and a delivery network comprised of over 4,000 owner operators. As peak season approaches, OnTrac will be hiring additional sorters to manage the influx of holiday shipping. Currently at the Vancouver facility, OnTrac is hiring part-time AM Package Handlers, a Corporate Account Manager and a full-time Hostler. From Boise, OnTrac is able to give its customers overnight delivery within Idaho and to the major metropolitan areas of Washington, Oregon, Reno and Utah overnight, with two day shipping to California, Arizona and Colorado.

"Overnight deliveries are crucial for cities like Boise that are geographically isolated," Mayor David Bieter said. "I welcome OnTrac and their vital services to Boise and am thrilled that they share my optimism for Boise’s bright economic future."

The addition of Boise to our service area in 2013 increased our service area to eight states and more than 60 million consumers. OnTrac Celebrates Chandler Grand Opening

Posted on Oct 29, 2013 10:54:00 AM

OnTrac celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Corporate Headquarters with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The parcel delivery company opened its doors to Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and key members of the City Council and Chandler Chamber of Commerce to share in the celebration.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
"This is our brand new home," OnTrac President Rob Humphrey said. "We are very excited to show off our new corporate home in Chandler. We are very proud of what we've got here, and we're already starting to see some of the benefits we thought we'd see by moving to Chandler as we start to hire and bring in new talent. It's a very exciting time for our company."

Chandler's central location and quick access to the interstate and freeways make it an excellent choice for businesses, like OnTrac, that have a diverse workforce.

OnTrac's new home provides the company with additional space and the opportunity for future growth. The new headquarters will also allow for new employee amenities including a game room, employee lounges, and a modernized break room. The company will occupy 65,000 square feet of space in the building, with an option to expand.

"This is a pretty amazing thing, when you think of the transformation of this facility, and we're obviously very happy and glad to be here today," Tibshraeny said at the opening. "Rob's vision with his company, to bring it into Chandler, is really good. We're happy to be here for the opening and we’re looking forward to those deliveries. Let’s make it happen."

OnTrac relocated its Corporate Headquarters from Phoenix to Chandler in September of 2013. The company brings more than 200 employees into the city's economy and expects to expand that number to 850 over the course of its 11-year lease.
