OnTrac has witnessed significant growth in Northern Nevada. Announced in early October, OnTrac had 200 available positions at the Sparks, Nevada facility and plans have been put in place to expand the current facility into a hub, which is over 150,000 square feet. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) recognized this positive change created by OnTrac in Northern Nevada and honored the company at the annual New and Expanded Companies Event.

The event took place on December 7, 2017 at the Peppermill Resort, Spa and Casino. A total of 29 companies including OnTrac were recognized at the event along with over 400 business and community guests in attendance. EDAWN Executive Vice President of Business Development Stan Thomas and City of Reno Bill Thomas presented an award on stage to OnTrac Chief Financial Officer Thomas Fischer and OnTrac Corporate Account Manager Erin Metscher.

EDAWN CEO and President Mike Kazmierski says, “2017 has been an exciting year of growth and positive change in the Greater Reno-Sparks area and most certainly for OnTrac. Quality Bicycle Products Expanding With OnTrac

Posted on Oct 21, 2015 6:00:00 AM

Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) announced that they are expanding into the Western United States with a distribution center in the Reno, NV area. QBP is a bicycle company whose goal is making the world a better place through the power of cycling. For over 30 years, they have been building and distributing products from world-class vendors in the industry to over 5,000 bike shops.

QBP currently has three distribution centers in the Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Utah. The Reno distribution center is estimated to be open by December 2015 and will be their fourth facility. OnTrac will be handling most of the next-day ground services out of their Reno facility and servicing California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Idaho. For Arizona, Oregon and Washington, these dealers should expect to receive overnight ground shipping by mid-January.

"We're very excited to be partnering with OnTrac to provide our Western dealers with overnight ground service," said Kim Brown, QBP's director of distribution. "We chose OnTrac because of its one-day service area and because they can save our customers money when shipping larger, bulkier items like bikes, car racks or helmets."

The 75,000 square-foot warehouse strategies will be based on the order frequency in the Western region. As time progresses, the diversity of products will expand based on sales trends. QBP’s products from in-house brands will be among the first SKUs to fill the warehouse, such as Lazer, Quality Wheels and Surly.

"Offering an expanded level of service to our western U.S. dealers is a huge step forward in our ongoing commitment to serving the local bike shop," said QBP's president, Rich Tauer.  On-site sales and a customer service team will also occupy the Reno facility.

OnTrac wins 2011 Courier of the Year!

Posted on Mar 13, 2012 11:31:00 AM

This time of year, Sparks, Nevada is a snow-covered collection of corrugated-steel and otherwise unremarkable industrial buildings framed by the jagged edge of freshly powdered mountains.

A winter wind blows remnants of last night’s snowstorm across car windows, and out in the distance the clouds have opened up to let the sun highlight the beauty of this industrial town.

The future of shipping logistics is unfolding in Reno, and it has more to do with OnTrac’s great customer service than one might think.

At OnTrac, it’s all about exceeding customer expectations, and on Thursday, March 1, the company’s efforts were recognized by Newgistics Inc., a shipping company that provides small parcel delivery and return solutions and offers shippers new opportunities to increase customer loyalty and improve efficiency.

After 12 months of performance evaluation of more than 30 different regions, Newgistics presented the first annual Courier of the Year award to OnTrac at the Reno facility.

Of all the couriers in the 30 regions evaluated, the Reno facility was the only one to break the 90th percentile, receiving a score of 94 out of 100-- the average score of this evaluation was in the 60s.

The combined effort of OnTrac’s senior management and Reno’s PM Operations Manager Galin Brooks, who acted as the main point of contact between Newgistics and the OnTrac Reno facility, enabled OnTrac to provide the best on-time pickup and delivery percentage of all the couriers being evaluated.

“This is a pretty significant accomplishment,” Senior Manager Transportation Brad Hoff said. “The Reno facility competed with close to 30 other regions over a period of twelve months, and had the highest score during that time. Their score establishes accountability and sets the bar that much higher for years to come.”

Among other things, couriers were evaluated on time in transit, delivery volume, pickup volume and cycle time.

“Reno is the consolidation point for what goes through Newgistics,” General Manager Todd Royer said. “I think a big part of this award has to do with the relationship we have developed with them. They know they can pick up the phone and call us and they will get a resolution. I don’t think they have that with anyone else.”

With this award, OnTrac was named the best company overall for on time delivery and on time returns, both crucial factors that lead back to the most important part of the Newgistics business model: customer service.

OnTrac Wins 2011 Courier of the Year

“The customer service OnTrac provides is outstanding,” Hoff said. “The whole thing is about the customer experience, and we want a perfect customer experience-- that is what they did for us. As far as I’m concerned, it validates why they’re number one and why the relationship needs to stay in place for a long time.”
