Posted on Oct 31, 2018 11:56:25 AM

Peak season preparation is always on the mind of logistics and retail professionals. With the rise of e-commerce, and high demand for quick and efficient shipping, it is never too early to start peak season preparation. Summer is in the rear view mirror and the holiday season is just around the corner. For retailers and logistics professionals, this is the busiest time of year.

As Thanksgiving approaches, online traffic begins to surge and sales rise quickly. Holiday shopping often follows patterns and is tied to specific events such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday, which are taking place earlier this year.  For most retailers, this is their busiest time of year and for some it represents a generous portion of total annual sales. Peak season can help determine if the year will be successful both in the retail and logistics world.

OnTrac Shipments are Trackable on eBay

Posted on Jan 12, 2016 9:00:00 AM

OnTrac and eBay have teamed up to provide OnTrac tracking information to all eBay customers. The addition of OnTrac to eBay’s list of carriers was in response to sellers requesting to use OnTrac to ship their products over other shipping services.

ebay-marketplaces-logo.png

OnTrac’s tracking number is now integrated within eBay’s tracking system, which will help sellers meet their on-time shipping metric and eBay Top Rated seller requirements by having tracking uploaded every time they ship. Sellers can enter the information the same way as they would for USPS, UPS or FedEx services. For buyers, they receive an automated email with the tracking number and a delivery update through ‘My eBay’ to make the purchasing process as smooth as possible.

“We’re excited about adding OnTrac as a reliable shipping solution to the eBay marketplace,” says eBay Global Delivery Experience and Local Vice President Carl Gish. “The integration of their service will greatly benefit eBay customers and help further eBay’s efforts to create frictionless commerce experiences.”

For more information on how to upload tracking information for shipped items, please watch this information video, http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/video/uploadtracking.html.

OnTrac Jingle Bells

Posted on Dec 24, 2015 11:47:28 AM

12.24.15_OnTrac_Jingle_Bells.pngDashing through the snow,
In an OnTrac cargo sleigh,
Over the streets we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on big rigs ring
making spirits bright
What fun it is to sort and sing
A shipping song tonight!

Oh jingle bells jingle bells
jingle all the way!
Oh what fun
it is to drive
on this Black Friday, Hey!
Jingle bells jingle bells
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to sort
On a frosty Saturday!

A day or two ago
I worked the PM Shift
And soon my manager
almost lost his grip;
the packages were stacked
across the warehouse floor
as a matter of fact
they were flowing out the door!

Oh jingle bells jingle bells
jingle all the way!
Oh what fun
it is to drive
across the windy I-80, Hey!
Jingle bells jingle bells
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to sort
a billion boxes every day.

When Cyber Monday passed,
A million packages were scanned
Our throughput unsurpassed
all sorts running as we planned.
The drivers they did load
all the parcels on the docks
driving carefully as it snowed
delivering each and every box!

Oh jingle bells jingle bells
jingle all the way!
Oh what fun
it is to drive
across the frosty cold highway, Hey!
Jingle bells jingle bells
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun, it’s Peak Season
OnTrac delivers all the way!

OnTrac joined KNIX Radio and St. Vincent de Paul in their fight against hunger. 2015 marks the fifth year that OnTrac has supported the Million Can Crusade by organizing a canned food drive at the OnTrac corporate office during the month of November.  In addition, OnTrac donated $1,500 to the cause at the KNIX Kickoff party on November 2, 2015. The donation is equivalent to 15,000 cans and helps bridge the gap to collect a total of one million cans. The OnTrac corporate office set a goal to collect 3,000 cans of food and surpassed the goal by 2,017, for a total of over 5,000 cans. In total with the monetary donation, OnTrac donated 20,017 cans to Million Can Crusade this year.

KNIX Radio has hosted the million can crusade during the month of November since 2008. #hungersucks is the theme of the campaign in their eighth year. Ben and Matt In The Morning of KNIX Radio sold apparel with the slogan and one hundred percent of the proceeds went towards their goal to collect one million cans. In addition, tickets were sold to a special concert at Whiskey Row in Scottsdale featuring David Nail on Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Five dollars of each ticket sold went towards the goal as well. For more information, please visit their website, knixcountry.com/pages/million-can-crusade.

Morning show co-host Matt McAllister said, “During this time of the year, I feel so fortunate to help out in this way. It’s such a blessing to be able to do this for a living.”

“It’s a community effort,” said Ben Campbell, morning show co-host. “Every year it’s gotten a little bit bigger. I never imagined that the first year we’d hit the goal of one million cans or that this year we’d be over two million cans.”

Additional to the canned food drive at OnTrac, there were multiple locations throughout the valley during the month where KNIX Radio collected cans from the community. In total, the Million Can Crusade collected 2,653,348 cans and will benefit more than 80 parish-based food pantries in the community to help feed hungry families this holiday season.

OnTrac Delivering Hope to Local Schools

Posted on Oct 9, 2015 9:54:24 AM

OnTrac Delivering Hope to Local SchoolsDuring the month of September, OnTrac delivered backpacks and school supplies to 1,000 elementary, middle and high school students within the Western Region. Thirty-eight school districts and charities were touched by OnTrac Delivering Hope. OnTrac supplied 1,000 backpacks and distributed them to OnTrac operational facilities in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Washington. School districts nearest to all of the facilities were chosen to participate. At each facility OnTrac employees donated and filled each backpack with supplies specific to students in kindergarten to 12th grade.

OnTrac is onboard with delivering hope to today’s youth and couldn’t be more excited to help these students succeed in the 2015-2016 school year and beyond. According to the City of Chandler’s website, “Hundreds of children go back to school each year without any school supplies [and] there are more than 8,000 students in the Chandler Unified School District [alone] who attend Title 1 schools.” City of Chandler Community Resources and Diversity Manager Leah Powell says, “It’s local businesses, like OnTrac, whose support helps to bring success to the families and communities that we serve.”

At OnTrac, it’s an important company-wide initiative to support the communities that we live and grow in. “We have a responsibility to give back to local communities and we feel very fortunate to be able to help those in need,” said Dennis Crosby, Commerce General Manager. “Education is everything and if we’re not involved with today’s youth, then we fail as a leader in the community.”

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month: How to Get Involved

Posted on Oct 2, 2015 10:04:00 AM

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is now 30 years old! A partnership between the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries, which is now a part of AstraZeneca, founded NBCAM in order to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer. Throughout the years, additional breast cancer charities, foundations, research groups and corporations, have joined in with events and activities to help spread awareness of the disease and fundraising for research that will help to find a cure. There are many ways to get involved during the month of October and the other 11 months of the year as well. Below we have outlined some events going on right now. Please look carefully at the dates that the events are taking place in your city. These dates can fluctuate based on which state you live in.

NBCF Fundraiser Hope Balloon resized 600

Susan G. Komen offers multiple events during BCAM. Komen Race for the Cure is the largest educational and fundraising event for breast cancer in the world. This event is a series of 5k runs and fitness walks to raise funds and awareness for the breast cancer movement. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Continue to their website to find more information about an event near you. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day event is a journey of a lifetime that you’ll never forget. It’s a 60-mile event held over three days. Follow the link for more information. If you’re not able to attend either of these events, Susan G. Komen can also help you to find additional local events to get involved in, here

Another option to get involved is through the American Cancer Society. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks is an opportunity to raise funds to help save more lives from Breast Cancer. If you are able to volunteer or join this year, follow the link here or learn more by watching the video below.

For those of you who are unable to join a weekend event, National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) offers a VRace (virtual race) as a fundraiser. NBCF helps you to make a personal fundraising page and allows you to bike, run or walk with your favorite GPS tracking app to turn your action into impact.
