On_Trac_-_15.jpgOnTrac randomly selected a winner for the Delivering Hope sweepstakes. The sweepstakes was created to allow businesses the opportunity to give back to their charity of choice and spread awareness to each organization during the season of giving. J. De Sigio Construction, Inc. entered the sweepstakes to nominate the U.S .Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. As the winner of the sweepstakes, Toys for Tots will receive a prize from OnTrac of a $1,000 donation on behalf of J. De Sigio Construction, Inc.

On_Trac_-_09.jpgDuring the months of October, November and December, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program collects new and unwrapped toys in order to distribute the toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. As described on the Toys for Tots website, the goal of the program “is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.” Campaign Coordinators plan and implement voluntary events throughout the year to increase awareness in Toys for Tots, such as golf tournaments, foot races and bicycle races. Toys for Tots accepts toy donations and monetary donations through their website, toysfortots.org.

On_Trac_-_26.jpgEric Pivaroff nominated Toys for Tots on behalf of J. De Sigio Construction, Inc., which provides quality water and sewer pipeline installation in Baldwin Park, California and surrounding areas. Pivaroff nominated this program with a message saying, “The USMC works very hard with local social services groups to help these children have a Christmas and operate on less than 3% overheads.” The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity that provides the fundraising, funding and support for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program since 1991. To donate online or to donate a new, unwrapped toy at your local Toys For Tots drop-off, please visit toysfortots.org.

OnTrac Gives Back for the Holidays

Posted on Dec 12, 2011 10:01:00 AM

For most of us, Christmas is a vacation, a holiday getaway from the hustle and bustle of the work week, a chance to catch up with the family, open presents, and create memories.

It’s a time for traditions, lights, snowmen, and holiday cheer— a celebration of all we have accomplished and an escape before ringing in a new year.

For the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve, it’s a little different.

With the holidays, so too comes a three month initiative for their Toys for Tots program and a promise to collect new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to needy children.

For them, the holidays aren’t always a vacation, but they are a chance to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters, and this year, OnTrac is helping out.

Leslie Hodges, General Manager of OnTrac in the Los Angeles facility, has teamed up with her property manager and other corporate residents in the neighborhood to participate in this year’s program.

“I really think it is a good idea for a company to give back to the community,” she said. “We can make a big impact by participating in the efforts for an organization like Toys for Tots.”

In addition to Toys for Tots, Hodges has worked with St. Jude’s Foundation, United Way, AIDS Ride LA, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation— organizations that she holds close to her heart.

“It makes me feel like I can make a difference for someone who needs help,” she said. “The organizations that I have participated in have a personal meaning. I volunteered for them because I know someone who has suffered. I just know someone, in some way, is going to benefit from these causes— so if I can help, I will.”

The Toys for Tots box at the Los Angeles facility has already been filled up and was retrieved by the USMC Reserve December 9.
